17. Filling and flooding the circulations of turbines.
Inhibited refined turbine oils require very clean circulations and water removal, since it may wash out
oxidising inhibitor. Before filling circulation systems of new and operated turbines and equipment with oil,
make sure that they are exactly cleaned. If the turbine manufacturer does not impose any special requirements,
oils for adding or flooding turbines should be applied through special filtering devices or centrifuges. After
filling up the lube, adjustment and hydraulic system, maintain oil circulation for several hours. Next, take oil
sample and review oil filters. If oil filter contamination is identified, start purging the system again,
respecting relevant turbine operation principles. Do not add oil different than the oil used in a given turbine.
